Podcast Note: The podcast name has changed from “Life, Love, and the Movies” to “The Successful Life Mindset”.

About Cliff and Tracy:
Cliff Ravenscraft is a podcast producer, consultant and coach that left a position in the insurance business to live his dream of a full-time career in the world of podcasts. Cliff, like Tracy, hopes to use his podcasts to inspire people.
Cliff started with a goal to become debt free (based on a Dave Ramsey philosophy) and was eventually able to leave his “wages” job to fulfill his dream job. Taking a step of faith, Cliff left his job and he and his wife made sacrifices and adapted their lives to make the podcasting income work as the business grew.
Tracy Trost, founder of Trost Moving Pictures is an independent filmmaker, writer, producer and director. Tracy used his entrepreneurial spirit to follow his dream and seize opportunities to live his dream of making movies that entertain and inspire others.
Tracy has made three films to-date: “Find Me”, “A Christmas Snow” and “The Lamp”. All three films have been successful. Tracy’s “luck” with his career is actually the result of hard work, commitment and sacrifices made by him and his family. Tracy chooses to surround himself with other, like-minded, successful people. He worked with Jim Stovall (“The Ultimate Gift”) on both “A Christmas Snow” and “The Lamp”. The opening/closing music for this podcast is “Heartbeat” written by Kelly Morrison and is featured in Tracy’s movie “The Lamp”.
Quote of the Day:
“Opportunity will not interest itself in someone who is not interested in it.” Napoleon Hill
Luck Versus Seizing Opportunity Examples:
A story about Steven Spielberg comes from the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Steven Spielberg loved the movies. It was said he left a studio tour, completed the tour on his own, made friends with the guard on the way out, used that friendship day after day to continue visiting the studio, eventually took over an empty office, got himself invited to meetings and made things happen. In short, Mr. Spielberg took every opportunity that presented itself.
One of the drivers on “Ice Road Truckers” was consistently the most or one of the most successful each season. He is driven, he goes for it, and he makes things happen. Another driver, a rookie, waited for things to happen – they never did. He never took charge of his own destiny.
Tracy wrote an article “Does God Care about the Individual Man?” He and his sons were on their way to Canada on a fishing trip. Along the way, Tracy noticed smoke from one of the wheels on his boat trailer. He started to pull over, but noticed a repair shop just up the road and pulled in. It was closed; however, the owner was there for an appointment and agreed to look at the wheel with Tracy. The man said it couldn’t be fixed. Tracy offered to help fix it, if indeed it was repairable. The man said okay and together they actually got it fixed and Tracy and the boys were back on the road. All of this proves that God does care. The repair shop being just up the road, the owner being there after hours and the two men fixing the wheel were not just luck – it was God’s providence.
One of Tracy’s favorite Scriptures is Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Renewing your mind means to look at things differently. You must look for the positive. Change your thinking; change your life.
Things to Remember:
- You must live life on purpose.
- You must do what you have to do to get things done.
- You must be willing to step out because there is no magic.
- Success takes planning and organization.
- Seize the opportunities life presents you.
- Change your mindset to achieve success.

I’m sure you’ve done it before. You were watching a great movie, probably one of ours, and you saw something you really liked. It might have been an outfit, an accessory, or maybe even a tool or gadget. How can you find it to buy? Before you would have to freeze the movie and go online and see if you could find it somewhere. Well not anymore. Now you can WinkIt!
TMP Studios is proud to announce that we have licensed our films A Christmas Snow and The Lamp to be used on WinkIt, a startup company based out of MN that is taking all the legwork out of finding those cool items in movies that you want.
For example if you visit the A Christmas Snow page on WinkIt here: ACS on WinkIt you can see the different scenes from the movie and then see which items you can buy from WinkIt that are in those scenes. You could get Kathleen’s (Catherine Mary Stewart’s) jacket or the jewelry she’s wearing. Maybe you want Sam’s (Muse Watson’s) shirt or vest, you can get them.
You can also see The Lamp page here: The Lamp on WinkIt and check out all the different items from The Lamp that the WinkIt team has found or created. Perhaps you really like an outfit that Lisa (Meredith Salenger) or Stanley (Jason London) had or maybe you’re feeling more like you want Charles’ (Louis Gossett Jr’s) bow tie.
It’s a very cool idea and we are proud to be working with them at the beginning and we can’t wait to see how far WinkIt goes. Be sure to tell your friends and family about them too as they are just starting out and they could use some TMP Studios fan support. Because we all know that TMP Studios fans are the best fans out there.

Tulsa, OK~ Trost Moving Pictures’ awards momentum continues to build! The Lamp was recently named Best Feature Drama at the Trail Dance Film Festival, a prestigious and sought-after honor by filmmakers. It received two more key awards for Best of Festival and Best Actor for Cameron ten Napel.
Right on the heels of the Trail Dance Film Festival wins, this critically-acclaimed film has been chosen as a nominee for Best Feature Drama by the International Family Film Festival committee. In case you missed it, last September our very own award-winning director Tracy J Trost did an interview with MovieMaker Magazine about The Lamp. We’ve posted a section below and you can read the whole interview by clicking the link below.
Samantha Husik (MM): What inspired you to adapt Jim Stovall’s book, The Lamp, into a film? What about the book seemed particularly cinematic?
Tracy Trost (TT): When Jim shared The Lamp with me, I immediately got the concept of the book. I knew it was a story that many people could relate to and connect with. Of course with any adaptation from book to movie, there were sub-plots and supporting characters that needed to be added. I remember after I read the book, on a flight from Dallas to Hawaii, I wrote an eight-page treatment of my ideas for additions and changes to make to the story entertaining to viewers. I sent them to Jim and he loved them. We work very well together.

Trost Moving Pictures’ The Lamp Walks Away With Three Awards At 2012 Trail Dance Film Festival
Tulsa, OK ~ January 30, 2012 ~ Trost Moving Pictures’ film The Lamp proved to be the lucky one for director Tracy J Trost and bestselling author Jim Stovall. The Lamp walked away with Best Feature Drama honors, along with Best Actor (Cameron ten Napel) and Best of Festival at the Trail Dance Film Festival, which has been named twice to MovieMaker Magazine’s Top 25 film festivals. The combination of Stovall’s ability to write a bestselling novel and Trost’s ability to write a screenplay, then bring it to life has proven once again to be successful. The Lamp’s wins are evidence that director Tracy J Trost and author Jim Stovall are on an unimpeded road to continued recognition.
“It is always an honor to be recognized by your peers. Independent filmmaking is becoming more recognized by the industry as well as the mainstream audience. I am honored to be considered one of the leaders in this movement, and I look forward with great anticipation to what the future holds for those of us using this medium to get our message and films out to the general audience. Winning Best Feature, Best Actor (Cameron ten Napel), and Best of Festival this past weekend at the Trail Dance Film Festival is validation that films like The Lamp are viable and needed.” ~ Director Tracy J Trost.
“Being nominated is an honor enough, and then to WIN! It’s a dream come true,” states Cameron ten Napel. “I couldn’t have done it without all the wonderful people that surround me.”
“The Trail Dance Film Festival validated the quality of The Lamp movie and its message in two ways. First, the overwhelming positive response from the audience when The Lamp was screened and, secondly, when the film received awards for Best Drama, Best Actor, and Best of Festival.” ~ Jim Stovall, Author The Lamp, Co-Executive Producer
This is the third year Trost Moving Pictures has won at the Trail Dance Film Festival. Previously they have won Best Feature Narrative for Find Me and Best of Festival, Best Feature Drama, Best Actor (Muse Watson), and Best of Oklahoma Film for A Christmas Snow, an awards favorite.
