With more than 44,000 ratings on Netflix (at the time of this post) with an average of 4 stars we are extremely thankful for the overwhelmingly positive response of our awesome fans and friends of The Lamp. Which means it’s time for us to put our film up against some other great films in a couple of festivals and see if it can come out with more awards than black eyes
The first stop for our baby was the Kingdomwood Film Festival in Georgia last year where The Lamp took Best Drama and now we’re proud to say that it is an official selection of the Trail Dance Film Festival in Oklahoma and is nominated in 3 different categories. Those categories are:
• Best Drama
• Best Actor/Actress – Cameron ten Napel and Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr
• Best Director
We’ve got our fingers crossed as we get ready to head to the festival on January 27th with the awards show on January 28th. Trail Dance is one of our favorite film festivals and we have to admit we covet the top notch Golden Drover awards that they give out. It’s a beautiful statue and is a testament to the awesome job that Anthony Foreman and the crew at Trail Dance do every year.
If you want to come out to Trail Dance head on over to their site here: Trail Dance Site and check out the nomination list, the screening schedule, and then get yourself a pass to see the movies. The awards show is free to the public and starts at 9pm on Saturday night January 28th, we would love to see you there!
After Trail Dance we have entered The Lamp into the AMC Theaters Kansas City Film Fest and we’ve got our fingers crossed to become an official selection. As soon as we know more on that front we’ll let you know on our Facebook page here: The Lamp on Facebook.
So that’s it, our little baby is growing up and we’re excited and hopeful it will do well, but not matter what happens the reviews and stories that we have heard from all of you is why we do what we do in the first place. We make great films for great people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us in what we do. It’s really not possible without you!

What a year 2011 has been! We are so thankful to all of our friends and fans. If not for your support we couldn’t keep making family friendly inspirational movies, plays and more. Thank You!
The Lamp
The year started off with post production on our third feature film, The Lamp which we shot at the end of 2010 and stars Jason London, Meredith Salenger, L Scott Caldwell, Sarah Brown, Cameron ten Napel with Muse Watson and Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. The Lamp is based on the novel by bestselling author Jim Stovall and we finished the film in the spring of 2011. After that, we held charitable screenings over the summer and fall and raised thousands of dollars for some great causes all around the country including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma.
The Lamp was released on iTunes, VUDU, Amazon Instant Video and others in the fall to great reviews. It then hit many stores nationwide in September and October and the positive reviews kept pouring in. We heard from people all over the country who were inspired by the message of “Just Believe…” and others who had lost a loved one and were touched positively with a hope for the future. We are so grateful to be able to make films that touch people like this in such a positive way and your support is what makes it all possible.
The Lamp finally was released on Netflix streaming in December and over 28,000 people have already rated it with an average of 4 stars, wow! As we go into 2012 we are so excited to be nominated for 3 different awards at the Trail Dance Film Festival in January and we are looking forward to more stores carrying the DVD throughout the year.
A Christmas Snow
It’s amazing to think that two years ago at this time we were in pre-production on A Christmas Snow and now two years later we have sold DVDs all over the world, had it broadcast all over the world and numerous times here in the states. What an amazing experience it has been for us with our second film that has now been blessing people for two Christmas seasons. Just as we have heard wonderful things about people being impacted by The Lamp the message of forgiveness in A Christmas Snow has had a similar effect on people as well. We are always so excited to hear about people who have let go of years of bitterness and reconciled with family and friends after seeing the film. That is success to us! Thank you for making that possible.
A Christmas Snow Live!
While just two years ago we were getting ready to film A Christmas Snow, it was just one year ago that we were thinking about turning the story into a live stage play with the same stars from the film and we did it! A Christmas Snow Live! was an incredible experience as the actors and writer/director Tracy J Trost brought the story to life on stage in a powerful new way. Thousands of people were touched by this heartwarming play and called it “life changing” and “a must see show for the entire family”. I know as I stood in the atrium after a performance I was moved to hear the audience talking about how the play touched them and seeing grown men brought to tears by this story is something I will never forget. Once again this is only possible through the tireless support of our friends and fans, thank you!
What’s Next?
While 2011 was truly an exciting and busy year, we are excited to get going on 2012. With so many possibilities and opportunities for us at TMP Studios we can’t wait to get started. Take a sneak peek at what we have coming up here: 2012 – Sneak Peek
Thank you once again for all your support and from all of us at TMP Studios, have a Happy New Year!

The Lamp is the third feature film from TMP Studios and Writer/Director Tracy J Trost and the second with his partner bestselling author Jim Stovall. The film follows Stanley Walters (Jason London) who is suffering from the loss of his only child, and has secluded himself to a dark and lonely place. Sullen and without hope, he continues to hide from and neglect those he loves despite their attempts to reach out to him.
In what seems to be the final days of their already strained marriage, his wife Lisa (Meredith Salenger) is presented with a strange gift; an old oil lamp. Along with the lamp comes a mysterious messenger (Louis Gossett Jr) and a question that causes them to search the depths of their hearts for what’s truly important in life…
If you could have anything you wanted, what would YOU wish for?
The Lamp stars: Jason London (Man in the Moon, All Roads Lead Home), Meredith Salenger (Journey of Natty Gann, Lake Placid), L Scott Caldwell (Lost), Sarah Brown (Days of our Lives), Cameron ten Napel (A Christmas Snow, Cool Dog) with Muse Watson (NCIS, Prison Break) and Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr (An Officer and a Gentleman).

About Muse Watson:
Equally comfortable on the theater stage as he is in front of the camera, Muse Watson first gained notice with several strong performances on stage that helped pave the way for a feature film and television career. His diverse roles in Sommersby, Something to Talk About, Assassins, & Rosewood brought him mainstream recognition but it was the villainous “Ben Willis” in the trendy thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer films and From Dusk Till Dawn 2 that propelled him in the limelight as a chameleonic actor. He made equally impressionable appearances in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Sundance Film-Festival award-winner Songcatcher, challenging himself by playing unique characters.
Transitioning to the small screen, Watson delivered stellar performances in several made-for-television movies including Blind Vengeance and Justice in a Small Town; and the television series, American Gothic, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Matlock, The Lazarus Man, JAG, Walker Texas Ranger, Ghost Whisperer, CSI, and The Mentalist. Going on to land his most notorious TV roles as “Mike Franks” in the award winning drama NCIS and “Charles Westmoreland” in the Emmy & Golden Glo bes nominated & People’s Choice Awards – winner Prison Break. He recently finished filming The Lamp starring Jason London and a feature film with Samuel L. Jackson and Owen Wilson. A Christmas Snow the movie released on dvd can be found in stores everywhere. The Lamp and A Christmas Snow are both Tracy J Trost movies.
