The much-talked-about stage version has been greenlighted and goes into production in October with performances starting November 1, 2011 and running through the Christmas season at the Starlite Theatre in Branson, MO.

He has developed the screenplay for the stage and is enthusiastic about bringing the live theatrical performance to Branson. Original music and Christmas favorites from the movie soundtrack will be used along with original music written specifically for the stage production.

Trost is currently securing other cast members that will include local talent.

Director Tracy J Trost has a full slate of projects lined up for 2011. His newest film, The Lamp, starring Jason London, Meredith Salenger, Sarah Brown, L. Scott Caldwell and Cameron ten Napel, with Muse Watson and Lou Gossett, Jr. will be released in Spring 2011.

About the actors:

Equally comfortable on the theater stage as he is in front of the camera, Muse Watson first gained notice with several strong performances on stage that helped pave the way for a feature film and television career. His diverse roles in Sommersby, Something to Talk About, Assassins, & Rosewood brought him mainstream recognition but it was the villainous “Ben Willis” in the trendy thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer films and From Dusk Till Dawn 2 that propelled him in the limelight as a chameleonic actor. He made equally impressionable appearances in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Sundance Film-Festival award-winner Songcatcher, challenging himself by playing unique characters.

Transitioning to the small screen, Watson delivered stellar performances in several made-for-television movies including Blind Vengeance and Justice in a Small Town; and the television series, American Gothic, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Matlock, The Lazarus Man, JAG, Walker Texas Ranger, Ghost Whisperer, CSI, and The Mentalist. Going on to land his most notorious TV roles as “Mike Franks” in the award winning drama NCIS and “Charles Westmoreland” in the Emmy & Golden Globes nominated & People’s Choice Awards – winner Prison Break.

Catherine Mary Stewart is excited to reprise her screen role of “Kathleen” in A Christmas Snow, the musical.  She looks forward to bringing the message of hope, love, forgiveness and redemption to a whole new audience in this entertaining format.

Catherine’s career has spanned over a period of 30 years, and over 50 different productions from film to television to theater, in England, Canada and the United States. She was living in London studying dance, acting and singing, when she was cast in her first professional acting role as the lead in the rock musical The Apple.  The Apple was chosen to open the Montreal World Film Festival in 1980 and has since developed a cult following and was recently screened at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Catherine moved to Los Angeles in 1981 and soon after landed a contract with Days of Our Lives originating the role of Kayla Brady. During Catherine’s tenure with “Days” she was cast in the lead role of “Maggie” in The Last Starfighter.  Catherine found steady employment as an actor in movies, including the cult classic Night of the Comet, the 50’s teen comedy Mischief, as well as the female lead in the very popular Weekend at Bernie’s.

A variety of television features a nd miniseries have also given Catherine the opportunity to work alongside such luminaries as Robert Mitchum, Jean Simmons, Robert Stack and Karl Malden.  She co-starred with Charles Bronson and Christopher Reeve in the acclaimed TNT movie The Sea Wolf. She also starred alongside Candice Bergen, Rod Steiger, Anthony Hopkins and Angie Dickinson in the widely publicized Hollywood Wives, and played the Joan Collins character as a young woman aging from early teens to mid-twenties in Sins.  Stewart received accolades for her work on the mini-series Passion and Paradise with Armand Assante and Rod Steiger.

Most recently she has appeared in several TV movies for Lifetime, including My Daughter’s Secret, Dead at 17 and My Neighbor’s Secret and on the Hallmark Channel, including Sharp Shooter, Generation Gap and Class. Catherine is proud to have had the lead role in the feature film A Christmas Snow, released in October of 2010.

Tulsa, OK ~ Trost Moving Pictures and the Narrative Television Network announce additional casting to its previous announcement, inking actors Jason London and Meredith Salenger to star and three-time Emmy Award-winning Sarah Brown to co star in their upcoming feature film The Lamp. Salenger will play Lisa, Stanley’s wife and a personal trainer who is also struggling with the loss of their child and the growing divide in her relationship with her husband. A theatrical release is scheduled for Spring 2011.

Trost received hometown honors at the October 8th premiere of his second feature film A Christmas Snow, as Mayor of Tulsa Dewey Bartlett, Jr. proclaimed October 8 , 2010 A Christmas Snow day in front of a full house. The red carpet event included cast, Catherine Mary Stewart, Muse Watson, Cameron ten Napel, Anthony Tyler Quinn and local celebrities.

The Lamp synopsis:
Suffering from the loss of his only child, Stanley (Jason London) has secluded himself to a dark and lonely place. Sullen and without hope, he continues to hide from and neglect those he loves despite their attempts to reach out to him.

In what seems to be the final days of their already strained marriage, his wife Lisa (Meredith Salenger) is presented with a strange gift: an old oil lamp from a far off land. Along with the lamp comes a mysterious messenger (Lou Gossett, Jr.) and a question that causes them to search the depths of their hearts for what’s truly important in life.

If you could have anything you wanted, what would YOU ask for?”

The Lamp is a story of discovering what is truly important in life and how you can get it.

About the actors:
Jason London made his film debut in Robert Mulligan’s The Man in the Moon in 1991. But it was his role as quarterback Randall “Pink” Floyd”  alongside Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck, in the 1990’s cult favorite Dazed and Confused that helped launch his career.  This marked the beginning of many diverse films, including the hilarious but sensitive film To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar, with Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, Jon Leguizamo and Stockard Channing, Fall Time (David Arquette & Stephen Baldwin), All Roads Lead Home (Peter Coyote and Peter Boyle), A Golden Christmas with Andrea Roth and a string of others. An established actor, in addition to his feature film work London also appears regularly on television, TV-movies and miniseries. Currently London is filming The Lamp with Meredith Salenger, L. Scott Caldwell, Cameron ten Napel, Muse Watson and Lou Gossett, Jr.

Meredith Salenger’s first role was at 10-years-old in the feature film Annie, directed by the late great John Huston.  But it was her portrayal of the tomboyish Natty Gann in the Disney film, The Journey of Natty Gann (with John Cusack) that put her on the radar.  The Journey of Natty Gann went on to win the Gold Award at the Moscow Film Festival and garnered Meredith Best Actress in A Drama at the Youth In Film Awards.  Meredith then went on to star opposite River Phoenix in A Night In The Life of Jimmy Reardon and with the infamous Corey’s in the hit 80’s film Dream A Little Dream. Meredith then went to pursue her education, graduating cum laude with a degree in Psychology from Harvard University and 4 years later returned to Hollywood to resume her acting career going on to play some of her most memorable parts of the past few years – including sheriff Sharon Gare, in the cult classic Lake Placid, (Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda & Betty White), alongside Ben Affleck & Luke Wilson in The Third Wheel, My Best Friend’s Wife with John Stamos & Daniel London, & 2009’s Disney hit movie Race to Witch Mountain with Dwayne Johnson and Garry Marshall, as Natalie Gann no less as a sweet homage to the company that put her on the map.  Last year, Maxim magazine rated her as the #1 hottest actress of the 80’s. Meredith currently lends her voice talent to George Lucas’ animated series The Clone Wars and will be heard in this season’s Robot Chicken along side Seth Green.   She is currently filming The Lamp with Jason London, L. Scott Caldwell, Cameron ten Napel, Muse Watson and Lou Gossett, Jr.

Sarah Brown made her national television debut in the popular children’s series VR Troopers and then went on to win three Emmys for her role as troublemaker “Carly Benson” on General Hospital. Other television credits include The Lyon’s Den (NBC), L.A. Dragnet (ABC), Strong Medicine (Lifetime), Cold Case (CBS), The Closer (TNT), K-Ville (FOX) and Lifetime original movies It Was One of Us and The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story. She made her big screen debut as “Constance” in Big Momma’s House 2 (Martin Lawrence, Nia Long, Emily Porter & Zachary Levi). In 2008 Sarah returned to General Hospital in the newly created role of mobster “Claudia Zacchara.” She exited GH and joined The Bold & The Beautiful as “Sandy Sommers” in November 2009.
