Testing Tugg with the Joffrey Movie

Friday, May 18th, 2012

As many of you know, we have been talking with Tugg Inc about getting our past films, Find Me, A Christmas Snow, and The Lamp into their system so that you can demand it at a local theater in your area and have a great event watching inspirational stories on the big screen. We are also hopefully going to be releasing our next film, Letting Go through Tugg as well.

Because of this, I wanted to test out the system first hand before we asked you (our awesome fans, friends, and family) to use it. So this June 19th at 7:30pm I am going to be hosting an event through Tugg to show Joffrey – Mavericks of Dance a documentary about the Joffrey Ballet. I’m still getting all the details set for this event, but I wanted to give those of you in the area a heads up to save the date to help us test out how Tugg works so that we can be all the more prepared for when we put our Trost Moving Pictures films into the system for you.

As soon as I have the event page and all the info where you can share and buy tickets to this event I’ll let you know. Thanks so much for all of your support and your desire to see Trost Moving Pictures films in your favorite theater. This event is the first step for us in that process.

Bring a TMP Movie to Your Local Theater

Friday, May 4th, 2012

Tugg Inc LogoThere is still nothing like sitting in a dark room with a great story unfolding in front of you on a giant screen with incredible sound. No, not your living room after the kids are in bed. The Cinema, the theater, the Big Screen! As those of you who have followed us at Trost Moving Pictures for a while know, we have chosen not to release our films on the big screen for various reasons, one of them being financial. Many times films find themselves or their investors in a financial hole after trying to make it on the silver screen and we would just rather not do that to ourselves or an investor. But, thankfully with advances in technology and the ability for film studios like ourselves to interact with audiences (that’s you) this is changing.

This week I (Joe Jestus – PMD at TMP) had the privilege to speak with Tugg Inc about their new platform and service that I personally feel is going to be a game changer for independent filmmakers (with good content) and the audiences that love them. I also feel it’s going to be a great service to theaters as well for the reason I am about to tell you.

Tugg works with content providers, theaters, and promoters (this could be you). They take films from content providers and find screens from theater owners, and give promoters the opportunity to bring their favorite film to their favorite screen. So for example you could go on Tugg at some point in the future and find The Lamp or A Christmas Snow because you love them so much and say, “I want to bring A Christmas Snow to a theater in my town this Christmas and invite everyone I know.” So you go on and become a promoter for A Christmas Snow and you pick a theater in your town on a set day and time. Tugg will tell you what amount of tickets at the price you pick you need to sell before the event can happen. If you hit this amount of tickets, usually around 50 at $10 a piece the event is on and everyone’s credit cards are charged on the day of the event and they all get emailed tickets to bring to the event. If you don’t hit the minimum, no event and no one pays. It’s sort of like Kickstarter that way.

So why is it so great for content providers like us and theaters? Because of this minimum, we are both guaranteed a minimum payment from the event. Many times for content providers they are actually losing money when a movie shows and the same for theaters if no one shows up. This changes that. So why is it so great for the audience? Because, you get to see the films you want to see, on the screen you want to see them, when you want to see them. It’s almost as if the local big screen becomes your own personal theater. How cool is that? I think it’s really cool. No more avoiding the theater because the inspirational family friendly movies you want to see aren’t there.

So as you can tell, award-winning director Tracy J Trost and all of us at Trost Moving Pictures are excited about Tugg and the opportunity it provides us. What we need to know now is, who is interested in bringing The Lamp or A Christmas Snow to their local theater? If that’s you, please leave a comment below and let us know what city and state you want to bring it to. If we get enough interest, we’ll move forward on this.

Oh, I almost forgot, to tell you about another benefit for those who become promoters. You can earn 5% of the sales for being a promoter. That’s what I call the icing on the cake.

No matter what we decide to do with A Christmas Snow and The Lamp, we are looking forward to working with Tugg on our next film, Letting Go. So get ready for more information on how you will be able to be a part of that theatrical launch for Letting Go because it’s going to be exciting!

So remember, if you want to bring A Christmas Snow or The Lamp to a theater in your town for your friends and family, business clients, church, or organization, leave a comment below with the city and state you want to bring it to.

With a Great Excitement for the Future,

Joe Jestus Producer of Marketing and Distribution at Trost Moving Pictures

Nine Projects for 2012

Friday, March 9th, 2012
Just Believe

With 9 Projects, We Definitely Believe!

Nine projects including family movies, inspirational books, live events that will change your life, a powerful play on forgiveness, and more is what we have in store for our Trost Moving Pictures family and friends this year. Are you ready?

At Trost Moving Pictures we believe in pushing ourselves and facing our fears, after all we were founded by director Tracy J Trost on a dare to follow his dreams. (You can read that story here.) So this week when I posted that we were working on 6 projects over on our Facebook page, that seemed crazy.

Then I had to update it because I had forgotten one and it looked like we had 7 projects on the stove here and that seemed even crazier. So I guess now that I remembered two more we must be certifiably insane with 9 projects here in the works. As all our fans suggested, we’re doing our best to remember to relax.

So what are all of these projects we are working on? Well, we can’t tell you about all of them, but we can tell you about most of them.

Let’s start with the book director Tracy J Trost is working on. As he mentioned in The Successful Life Mindset Episode 26 he’s had an idea for a 30 day guide to changing your life that focuses on the steps he used to accomplish his dream of becoming a director. He’s currently writing the book now and hopefully we’ll have more info soon. Be sure to follow Tracy on Facebook and Twitter to get updates from him on this and other projects throughout the week. That’s one!

Live Events

Next, let’s look at our live events. In just about a month the Trost Moving Pictures crew is heading to New York City to work with the Center for Creative Media and it’s leader Doug Rittenhouse to broadcast an Acquire the Fire event on to over 200 countries around the world. The great thing about this event is we bring a crew of industry professionals and they work alongside young kids learning the trade from the Center for Creative Media who are getting hands on training in television broadcast. It’s definitely an adventure.

The next live event we are working on is the One Nation One Day event with Dominic Russo ministries for July 2013. Tracy talked about this event a little bit in the Director’s Diary 2012 Episode 9 and you can learn more about it at It’s a monumental event and is going to definitely push us all past our comfort zones, but it could has a huge potential to impact people’s lives positively and as you know, that’s what we are all about here at Trost Moving Pictures.

The final live event we are working on is still in the development stage but we are going to Branson next week to meet with some more people about moving it forward and hopefully we’ll be able to share more with you soon. That’s 2 – 4!

Family Movies

Now lets move on to our inspirational family friendly movie projects. As most of you know we are working on a project called Then & Now, which is a romantic comedy based on a book that is yet to be published by bestselling author Jim Stovall. This is a pretty big project and we are moving forward with hopes to get it into production this year or next year. Tracy talks about in the Director’s Diary 2012 Episode 2.

Our next film project, Tracy mentioned in the Director’s Diary 2012 Episode 8 when he talked about his meeting with New York Times bestselling author Andy Andrews. This project is based on Andy’s book The Lost Choice and we are just in the early stages on this one which is sure to be one of the biggest projects Trost Moving Pictures has taken on yet. If you haven’t read Andy’s book The Lost Choice yet, you should get it today so you can see what we’re looking at. It’s on Amazon here The Lost Choice.

The next two family movie projects we are working on are still in the development stage and we can’t share too much about them, but one of them could go into production this year still. That one has to do with adoption again and I am personally really excited about the project and the good that it can be used for. The other project will take some time to develop and Tracy is very excited about this one as well. I can tell you that both of these stories are based on real life events. So that’s 5-8!

The Stage

The final project that we are working on is of course A Christmas Snow Live! which is coming back to the Starlite Theatre for a second season starting November 1st. If you haven’t checked out A Christmas Snow Live! on Facebook you can here ACS Live! on Facebook. Once there you can see the calendar for 2012 and get tickets. This inspirational story has touched so many lives, we can’t wait to hear the great stories that come from this powerful message of forgiveness once again.

Also, we are working on a way for you to officially be a supporter of A Christmas Snow Live! so that you can have a hand in making that impact on people’s lives too! That’s 9!

Wow, nine projects, and that doesn’t include any other projects that spring up in relation to these projects like companion books and things like that. It also doesn’t include The Successful Life Mindset podcast either, that Tracy does on a weekly basis. If you aren’t listening to this podcast, you are really missing out on some amazing discussions with Cliff and Tracy about how to attain true success in life and get inspired. As you can see, we have a lot going on and your prayers and support is greatly appreciated by us all at Trost Moving Pictures.

With hope that you live your life to its greatest potential,

Joe Jestus – PMD at Trost Moving Pictures

The Successful Life Mindset Podcast Summaries

Friday, March 9th, 2012

With almost a thousand people subscribed to the weekly podcast, The Successful Life Mindset is inspiring people to live their lives to its greatest potential each week. But we know not everyone wants to spend thirty minutes listening to Cliff and Tracy each week, no matter how much fun it might be, you just like reading better. We have you covered!

We’re working on getting all the podcasts typed up in summary form and posted here on our website for you to read each week when it’s ready. By the end of today, the first three episodes will be up and we’re hoping to keep releasing an episode a day in this form for you to read until we are caught up to the new shows.

So if you’re the type of person that would rather read than listen, head on over to and check out summaries that we’ve written just for you.

I also want to give a personal thank you to Pat M. an incredible Trost Moving Pictures supporter who has made this possible!

With hope that you will live your life to its greatest potential,

Tracy vs Joe on Facebook

Friday, January 6th, 2012

As many of you know, director Tracy J Trost has a facebook page at and he curently stands at just under 300 friends who like it. Well, to start the new year and to give everyone a place to ask me questions and communicate about what’s going on at TMP Studios I now have a page too at (yep, I am).

And as I mentioned in the TMP Studios Insider, the real question is, “Who do you like more?” If you like Tracy more, then head on over to his page and “like” it and tell your friends too as well and help him reach 1,000 “likes” first. If you like me more, then head on over to my page and “like” it and tell your friends too as well and help me reach 1,000 “likes” first. (Keep in mind I always cheer for the underdog and with just 7 likes I am currently the major underdog.)

So you are probably wondering how YOU win, right? Well it’s easy, once one of us reaches 1,000 “likes” we will share a link on the winning page that will be active for 48 hours where you can download a PDF of Tracy’s book, Just Believe, which as I’m sure you all know come from our most recent film, The Lamp. So all 1,000 people who “like” me first will get a copy of Tracy’s book. (I mean all 1,000 people on the winning page. He, he…)

So there you have it! You can either “like” Tracy and take him from 300 to 1,000 fans or you can be a part of something monumental and “like” me and take me from 7 to 1,000 fans. The choice is yours and either way you win. (Although I think by liking me, you win a greater sense of accomplishment.)

Thanks for “liking” me no matter what!

Joe Jestus

PMD – TMP Studios •

P.S. – Yes, I know all of the links except one go to my page and not Tracy’s. I mean, I wrote the post and he has 288 and I’m at 7 – give a guy a break :-) Also, if you think Tracy and I should have a side contest where the loser has to do something let us know on our pages and we’ll pick the best suggestion. Now go “like” my page please. (Manners… never go out of style. – Sam in A Christmas Snow)

2012 – Sneak Peek

Friday, December 30th, 2011

With 2011 coming to a close we are thankful and grateful to those who have been with us from the good old days of 2009 when we launched out on director Tracy J Trost’s dream of making family friendly inspirational films and we are thankful for all the new friends we have met since then. It is your support that makes it possible for us to keep going in 2012.

We have several films that we are looking at moving forward on and it will just be a matter of which work out first. As you know each film is a major endeavor that takes time, talent, money and a team to make it possible. While we don’t have exact details, after all this is a sneak peek, we can tell you we’re looking at a Romantic Comedy, Western, Family Drama, and an Inspirational Period Piece. We are excited for each of them for different reasons and we can’t wait to share them all with you. What one will come to life in 2012, we don’t know yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do so you can join us for the adventure!

Live Events

Those of you with us from the beginning know that we got our start in TV and Live Events and 2012 might be a trip back to our roots. There are a couple of live events that TMP Studios might be a part of coming up in 2012 and as soon as the ink on the contracts are dry we’ll let you know where the TMP Studios crew will be headed off to for these events. Get ready for the TMP Truck Cam and your chance to chat with Director Tracy J Trost while he’s directing a live event!

As I mentioned above, TMP Studios got its start with Tracy J Trost who has an extensive background in television. We are hoping to get back to that history and we’ve got some exciting options for this fun medium. These options are in such an early stage that I can’t even share what they are about, but we are excited to get them moving and share them with you!

As you know, 2011 marked our first foray onto the stage with A Christmas Snow Live! and we loved it. You can rest assure that at some time and in some fashion TMP Studios will be back on the stage and as soon as we have all the details and dates locked down we’ll let you know so you can join us for this incredibly powerful experience.

With bestselling author Jim Stovall and award-winning director Tracy J Trost continuing to join forces in 2012, you know there will be more great books from both of them. So clear some space on your shelves or in your favorite tablet device for ebooks and get ready for more inspiration and adventure in 2012.

Thank You

Finally, I want to thank you once again for your support. It is what keeps us going when we launch out to chase our dreams of creating projects that will leave a lasting impact on our communities and our world. Because of your support you are just as much a part of the difference that is being made as we are. Thank you for a great 2011 and we can’t wait to continue the adventure in 2012 with you by our side!
