Award Winning Trost Moving Pictures & Emmy Award-Winning Narrative Television Network Announce Cast Of The Lamp Is Taking Shape As Filming Date Approaches L. Scott Caldwell & Cameron ten Napel Tapped To Star With Muse Watson and Lou Gossett, Jr.

Tulsa, OK ~ A succession of casting for the family drama The Lamp is taking place this week. The second cast announcement comes with the promise of having an all-star cast with some of Hollywood’s most famous coming to Tulsa. Just announced today,  Tony Award-winner L. Scott Caldwell, Cameron ten Napel, with Muse Watson and Oscar winner Lou Gossett, Jr. Earlier this month it was announced that Georgia Cole (ABC’s The Gates) was cast as Alex. More roles to be announced in the coming week.  A limited release is scheduled for Spring 2011.

Tony Award-winner, L. Scott Caldwell brings her extensive background in feature films, television and theater to the role of Miss Esther, a compassionate woman who after the death of her husband has chosen to open her home to those less fortunate than herself as a foster parent.

Cameron ten Napel joins the cast as Josh, a role that may become her foray in mainstream film. Josh, a 10-year-old tomboy who has overcome several perils in her short lived life is taken in by Miss Esther, and possibly given a second chance.

One of the most prolific and widely recognized actors of this generation, Oscar winning Lou Gossett, Jr. joins the cast as Charles, one of the most unusual and memorable characters in The Lamp.

Muse Watson also joins the cast, his second feature with Trost Moving Pictures, his first being A Christmas Snow, which premieres in Tulsa, OK on October 8. Watson will begin filming on October 11th and is featured in a surprise role you won’t want to miss.

Fresh off the success of his second feature film, A Christmas Snow, director Tracy J Trost is excited to be filming in Tulsa once again.

“Filmmaking is as much a business as it is an art and we have looked at other locations to film our movies,” says Trost. “But we always come back to Oklahoma because of the great incentives and the wonderful staff they have at the Oklahoma Film Commission with Julie Porter and Jill Simpson.”

Award winning Director Tracy J Trost and Trost Moving Pictures will team up with the Narrative Television Network  for The Lamp. The Lamp is adapted from the novel penned by best-selling author Jim Stovall (The Ultimate Gift). The script, based on the book, is written by Trost. Filming will begin in Tulsa on October 11.

“Among all of my books, The Lamp may well translate best to film, being both entertaining and life-changing.  I enjoy the process of writing books and making movies that show ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.  This gives the audience the opportunity to put ourselves in characters’ shoes while examining our own lives,” states Stovall. “My hope is that people who read The Lamp and see the movie will be entertained, energized, and challenged.”

The Lamp synopsis:
Suffering from the loss of his only child, Stanley (TBA) has secluded himself to a dark and lonely place. Sullen and without hope, he continues to hide from and neglect those he loves despite their attempts to reach out to him.

In what seems to be the final days of their already strained marriage, his wife Lisa (TBA) is presented with a strange gift: an old oil lamp from a far off land. Along with the lamp comes a mysterious messenger (Lou Gossett, Jr.) and a question that causes them to search the depths of their hearts for what’s truly important in life.

If you could have anything you wanted, what would YOU ask for?”

The Lamp is a story of discovering what is truly important in life and how you can get it.
